Frequently Asked Questions
At LonJourney, we’ve revolutionized genetic testing through our partnership with OpenDNA, offering a comprehensive range of genetic analyses from targeted cardiovascular assessment to Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS). Our standard cardiovascular screening begins with a simple cheek swab DNA collection, analyzing millions of genetic variations and integrating them with longitudinal Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to generate sophisticated Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) based on relevant genome-wide association study (GWAS) data. Our proprietary machine learning algorithms, validated through extensive research with 500,000 patients, achieve remarkable accuracy rates of up to 85% in predicting cardiac events. For patients seeking deeper genetic insights, our advanced WES and WGS options provide comprehensive analysis of all coding regions or the entire genome, respectively, offering the most complete picture of your genetic health landscape. Through OpenDNA-CARDIO’s interactive education tool, this powerful data is transformed into an engaging, dynamic report that not only clearly communicates your personal risk factors but also provides customized, evidence-based strategies to optimize your cardiovascular health and extend your longevity journey.
We only share information with whomever the patient instructs us to. If an insurance company requests medical records, we contact the patient to authorize the release. In 2008, Congress passed the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act (GINA) to prevent the unauthorized release of information. You can read more about that here.
Join our waitlist to begin your longevity journey. Our team will review your personal information and contact you to discuss next steps. This initial consultation will help us understand your health goals and explain how our precision medicine approach can be customized for your specific needs.
Most of the medical world follows what are referred to as ‘general guidelines’ based on statistics to provide diagnoses and treatments that work for the majority of people. In Precision Medicine, we start with your DNA and an extensive lab panel (if purchased) to get a holistic picture of your health. With your results, we review genetic factors unique to you, as well as personalized interventions to turn certain genes on or off – we can turn “on” your good genes with certain lifestyle choices. We combine all of this into a personalized health plan just for you.
While we do not currently accept HSA and FSA payments, we are actively working to integrate these payment options into our services. We understand the importance of these healthcare spending accounts to our patients and anticipate being able to accept them in the near future. We’ll make sure to notify our patients once these payment methods become available.
Not right now, but we hope to accept insurance soon. If you would like your insurance to cover Lonjourney we recommend letting your insurance carrier know! If you’d like to request that your insurance company cover the cost of a visit that you’ve already completed, please let our support team know. We would be happy to provide you with a super bill that you may submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement for Lonjourney services.

Personal Journey: A New Health Paradigm for a New Era
As a seasoned family physician, I witnessed firsthand the limitations of the healthcare system in treating chronic illness and functional decline in the later stages of life. The frustration I felt led me on a constant search for more effective ways to help my patients. This journey included in-depth research in diverse fields such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, health system management, and the integration of advanced technologies in treatment.
Even as a medical student at Tel Aviv University, I realized that the healthcare system was not optimally equipped to deal with chronic illness. I chose to specialize in family medicine out of a desire to provide patients with comprehensive and thorough care while establishing a continuous personal connection. However, I quickly discovered that even as a family physician, I lacked the necessary tools: time, access to new developments, and in-depth knowledge in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, stress, and sleep.
To deepen my understanding, I studied nutrition at Tel Aviv University for two years and independently expanded my knowledge in additional fields. Pursuing a master’s degree in public health with a focus on management opened a window into the world of health system management. Various management roles, including regional medical management, management of a rehabilitation hospital, and management of the primary care division at Meuhedet Health Services, provided me with extensive practical experience and exposed me to a wide range of challenges in the field of health.
The COVID-19 pandemic was a significant turning point. I saw firsthand how the combination of advanced technologies and efficient teamwork could prevent the collapse of the healthcare system and enable effective treatment of thousands of patients in their homes. Managing Meuhedet Health Services’ response to the pandemic highlighted the importance of innovation, flexibility, and the judicious use of technology.
After the pandemic, I left my position at Meuhedet Health Services and joined the 8400 group, where I met entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors. After a short training period, I co-founded Lonjourney with Nitzan.
Lonjourney aims to promote patients’ health in a precise and personalized manner, utilizing advanced technologies and continuous support. My personal journey gave birth to a vision: a world where every person can live a healthy and fulfilling life for an extended period. Lonjourney works to realize this vision through innovative and personalized solutions, in close collaboration with a skilled medical team.
Hi, my name is Nitzan, an entrepreneur and physician from Tel Aviv, and I want to share with you the personal journey that led me to establish Lonjourney.
After 5 meaningful years as a soldier and officer in the Israeli Intelligence Corps, I wanted to continue contributing to society on a broad scale. I turned to studying philosophy, economics, and political science at the Hebrew University and worked at the Ministry of Finance, aspiring to promote positive change through the public sector.
During my studies, I was exposed to the exciting insights of thinker Yuval Noah Harari. It became clear to me that the most significant challenge facing humanity is extending life expectancy and improving quality of life – a field known as Longevity. At that moment, I realized that if I wanted to contribute to humanity in the best way possible, I had to focus on medicine.
I decided to leave the Ministry of Finance and turned to studying medicine in Tel Aviv while working at a leading cyber company. For 4 years, I dedicated my mornings to clinical rotations in hospitals and my afternoons to business development and operations management in the cyber world.
It was this combination that exposed me to the fundamental gap between innovative technologies in the high-tech industry and the outdated infrastructures and cumbersome processes in the healthcare system. I realized that in order to fulfill the vision of Longevity, it is imperative to connect traditional medicine with groundbreaking technologies.
At the same time, I experienced firsthand the challenges involved in finding a personal solution to health problems. For years, I suffered from exhausting physical and mental symptoms, but doctors treated them only as symptoms of anxiety. I was forced to embark on an independent journey and thoroughly investigate my medical condition.
Eventually, with the help of a continuous monitoring device, I discovered that I suffer from sharp drops in blood sugar. I conducted nutritional experiments and various treatments on myself until I reached balance and a significant improvement in my quality of life. This personal process taught me how important personalized medicine is, taking into account the specific needs of each patient.
The vision of Lonjourney grew out of the understandings and insights I gained on my life’s journey. Together with my partner, Dr. David Dvir, we established a clinic that brings innovative solutions to extend life expectancy and improve patients’ health by applying the principles of precise, personalized, and preventive medicine. We combine innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence with a deep understanding of the medical and personal needs of each patient.
Our commitment at Lonjourney is to accompany each and every one of you on your personal journey towards optimal health and improved quality of life. We invite you to get to know our unique medical approach, which relies on extensive clinical experience alongside the most advanced technologies in the field of Longevity.
I will be happy to answer any questions and tell you more about our fascinating journey at Lonjourney. Together we can break the boundaries of traditional medicine and lead you to a healthy, fulfilling, and long life

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to
